4 key factors when choosing a land lot in Melbourne’s West
Melbourne’s West has plenty to offer if you’re looking for a quality lifestyle, to raise your family, to invest in, or to eventually retire. The region is growing rapidly for the lifestyle benefits it offers. Only thirty minutes from Melbourne’s CBD, it’s close enough to work in the city but far enough to give you more space, fresh air and less traffic.
And this translates to more quality time for yourself and with your family.
Land in Truganina and surrounding suburbs such as Tarneit and Rockbank, have shown solid growth over the last few years, supported by the regional government’s continuous investment in local facilities.
For you as a buyer, there is a wide range of choice and variety for land and house and land packages.
So how do you choose which land is right for you?
We’ve listed four key factors for you to consider when choosing the right land to build your future home upon.
1. Location in the neighbourhood
How close or accessible will you be to local schools, transport to and from work, childcare centres, shopping centres and the everyday facilities/amenities you need? Find out what the local council is planning for the area and whether there are new shopping centres or schools planned.
If you and your family enjoy the outdoors, then accessible parks, bike and walking trails may be a priority in your decision making.
2. Location in the masterplan
Just as important is the location of the land in the masterplan. You may prefer a quieter section of the estate or one that backs onto walking trails and parks. Or you might like to be closer to the centre of activity, near the local community facilities.
3. Size
Are you raising a family, building a dream home or buying your very first home? If you have young and growing family, you’ll need more space outside for little people to explore. If you don’t like the idea of maintaining a garden, you might opt for a smaller block with a two-storey home.
4. Position and aspect
The angle of the sun will determine how you build your home so pay attention to the aspect and position of the land. You may prefer an energy efficient home and need the sun shining on a specific area of the house if you plan on installing solar panels. Or if you plan to install a swimming pool, you may prefer morning or afternoon sun while you take your daily swim.
